Reflection :: The Path Before Me

What do you do when it seems impossible to bring some of your most precious dreams to life. Should you take that leap of faith or is it better to be more conservative and attempt a "watered down" version of your goals? Could you truly be satisfied with compromised ambition? Isn't "settling for" simply another way of giving up?

The holiday weekend brought with it an epiphany about the status of my life and the options that lie before me. Bruce Lee once said "success is in the journey, not the destination." A noble concept, no doubt. But I believe that a man is never truly satisfied unless he knows where he's going. Therefore, the destination proves the journey successful.

Project Spotlight :: Grace Worx

Here's a logo I recently designed in less than 45 minutes! It's for a volunteer program at a local church that helps area citizens in need of assistance, whether it's cleaning house, putting up a fence or even mowing the lawn. Despite the trendiness of the design, I think it really "worx" :-D

Miller High Life :: The Real Man's Campaign

Miller High Life recently launched a new campaign directed toward the Average Joe. The hilarious message of "disarming sissy-man habits" is a refreshing campaign clearly not driven by the stereotypical male appetites. I especially like the toned-down, retro design reminiscent of early retail catalogs.

Not So Green Acres

So, in my continual pursuit of karma points, I'm working on the display graphics for a local church. This design will accompany the materials (particularly the main projection display) for the message series. And while it's a great message, I got to have a little fun with the art:)

100% Recycled Awesome

There's no denying I'm a HUGE Snake Eyes fan, so when I came across this Mighty Muggs version of the GI Joe ninja, I had to have it. Earlier this year, Hasbro released a variety of these in several different themes (i.e., GI Joe, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Transformers, Marvel, etc.). No doubt it's Hasbro's attempt to get in on the urban vinyl market, but the cool part is they're made from 100% recycled PVC.

A Taste of Grace

In an effort to give back to the community, I designed a logo for a local church program in which members host dinners to help newcomers get acquainted with the church. The top two are the original concepts I presented, and the third is the final logo they chose.
